About Me
Hello!
I'm Mitch, a graduate of Edinburgh Napier University with a BA (Hons) in Film. I'm primarily a film editor with an interest in all areas of post-production, as well as script supervising.
I'm open-minded and a hard worker who is always willing to learn.
I also tell really bad dad jokes.
What Do I Do?
I am proficient in AVID and editing in DaVinci Resolve. I also have some knowledge of sound design, specifically in ProTools and have completed the ProTools 101 course.
I'm interesting in many genres of film, and have worked on documentaries, fantasy films and dramas as well as more experimental projects.
I have worked on short films, trailers and music videos in a variety of roles.
Script Supervising is also something that comes naturally to me due to having an eye for detail and enjoyment of organisation and note taking. In this role, I have worked with actors who have starred in a variety of films and a number of BBC, ITV and HBO shows.
I endeavour to be as helpful as possible to everyone involved in the filmmaking process and love opportunities to show my creativity and help others demonstrate theirs. I'm passionate about stories that have depth and intrigue to them and that the other members of the production team are also invested in. Building complex narratives, realistic characterisations and believable tonal shifts is something I have been working on more directly in upcoming projects, which I'm very excited to share in the near future.
What is it like to work with me?
I have collected some quotes from people I have worked with primarily as an editor, about what it is like to work with me.
"Works hard, great work and fair rates- only asks for the occasional bag of cheese and onion crisps.
But in all honesty, it’s always a great experience working with you. You are incredibly hard working while making it all so easy and you take everything in your stride. 100/10 would recommend to a friend."

"From my experience of working with Mitch as an editor, I’ve found that their contentious work ethic and attention to detail makes them a huge asset to any team. With the dedication they consistently show towards their work, I always know that whenever I collaborate with Mitch, the project is in good hands."

Just a little about me personally...
I worked in a cinema for four and a half years, love problem solving and learning interesting facts. I watch a lot of TV shows and movies, and attempt to read as often as I can. I like watching Formula 1, listening to indie music, seeing live theatre and making moodboards.
I have two guinea pigs, Hazel and Willow, and a family dog called Loki (all pictured).

(The dinosaur on the hat I'm wearing in the photo at the top of this page is called Elliott.)
